Kokedama with Succulents

Kokedama in Japanese means moss ball.  A form of bonsai, the succulents are placed in a special soil mixture then covered with moss recycled from my neighbors garden and wrapped with twine.

DO NOT water these once a week like house plants or you will rot the roots.  When the bottom of the "ball" is dry, that's when you need to water it.  The plant will also be light in weight & dense.  To water the kokedama, submerge the entire kokedama including the plant, in water for 20-30 minutes then squeeze out the excess water.  The succulents will be 2 - 2.5 weeks between waterings; the cacti 4 - 6 weeks between waterings.

So versatile, they can be hung with fishing line for a floating garden look, set in an antique tea cup, on a plate with black river rocks or displayed hanging in a special ceramic kokedama holder I display and sell in my booth.
